Always in my thoughts, forever in my heart

It seems as though a tragedy never comes alone…

It has been a very harsh and sad winter. When it started, I was aware that some of my oldest and most delicate cats would not make it till spring. Winter’s cold made all of them fragile, especially old and sick ones. I had to say goodbye for the last time to some of my dearly loved kitties. Gremlinac was amongst them.

He was brought to me at the age of 18 after surviving euthanasia attempt – his owner wanted to put him down because he was scratching the furniture. He was a tiny, skinny kitty, with cute face and big, round eyes, who has probably been neglected all those years. Charming and bright, he tugged at my heart and I wanted to give him the life he needed and deserved but has never had. He reminded me of a gremlin and that’s how he got his name.

Gremlinac had a year of nice life at my shelter. He was flea allergic and had a dense down hair but didn’t allow me to brush him so he usually winded up with matted fur. Extremely lovable, he cuddled with everyone. He enjoyed eating hot dogs and used to purr loudly like an engine. I loved him as if he were mine all his life.

When he turned 19, his strength started to fade. He was growing frailer and weaker day by day and passed away peacefully in his sleep. Loved beyond words, he will be missed beyond measure.

May he run free and happy until we meet again.

Rest in peace, sweetie.

So so sorry to hear this news! I'm glad little Gremlinac was so loved in the end. You'll be sadly missed, little boy. RIP :*(
